Parking Near Bayfront Park During the SASM Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Project

In preparation for the 2-year, $20 million project to rehabilitate the Sewerage Agency of Southern Marin (SASM) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), project managers are anticipating changes to the parking lot use at the entrance to the facility and near Bayfront Park.

Currently, there are 12 parking spaces provided by SASM for public use on the WWTP property. This includes one parking stall that is an accessible parking space.

During the construction project, the treatment plant will need to designate two of these spaces for SASM official business only during business hours from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday. The accessible parking space will remain unchanged. In upcoming days, you may see the two spots located near the office of the plant marked with signs that indicate that they are reserved for SASM use only.

WWTP staff also anticipates further impacts to the surrounding area as construction will displace many of the parking spaces inside the treatment facility. Project managers are developing a strategy to meet the parking needs of the plant staff, contractors, local Middle School faculty and administrators and Bayfront Park users.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we work to improve our facilities.
