Mill Valley Financing Authority

Description of Services

The Mill Valley Public Financing Authority is a joint powers authority for public financing of capital improvement projects. The purpose of the Mill Valley Public Financing Authority is to provide, through the issuance of revenue bonds, a financing pool to fund capital improvement projects. The Authority was formed in 2006 and is a joint exercise of powers authority organized and existing under and by virtue of the Joint Powers Act. The Authority is authorized to issue its revenue bonds pursuant to Bond Law. As the legislative body of the City, the Mill Valley City Council acts as the Governing Board of the Mill Valley Public Financing Authority.

Meetings

Mill Valley Public Financing Authority meetings are held only as required, at least once annually for purposes of reorganization of Board officers. All Mill Valley Public Financing Authority meetings are held at Mill Valley City Hall, at 26 Corte Madera Avenue, unless otherwise noticed, usually in conjunction with a regular meeting of the Mill Valley City Council. Elected Officials

The Mill Valley City Council acts as the Governing Board of the Mill Valley Public Financing Authority. Because City Council members act as the Board of Directors for the Mill Valley Public Financing Authority, the terms on the Mill Valley Public Financing Authority Board are concurrent with City Council members' terms. The Mill Valley Public Financing Authority annually reorganizes its officers as Chair and Vice-Chair.

Administrative Officials

The City Manager acts as the General Manager and the City Clerk acts as the Secretary for the Mill Valley Public Financing Authority. Salaries and benefit information can be found online.
