Members are appointed by a majority vote of the Mill Valley City Council (pursuant to the Mill Valley Municipal Code, Chapter 2.08).

The City is committed to promoting an equitable and inclusive environment that is welcoming to all who participate in municipal government. The City seeks diverse representation on its Boards, Commissions and Committees, and applicants from all backgrounds and life experiences are encouraged to apply. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for appointment to the City’s various Boards, Commissions, and Committees.

Please note that some applicants must be registered voters within the City limits of Mill Valley (there are a few exceptions, however, for certain commissions for those who reside within the boundaries of the Mill Valley School District).
