The Downtown Advisory Committee has recommended that the City continue the testing of temporary traffic changes on Bernard Street and Throckmorton Ave (see below). The intent of moving both directions of traffic to the Depot side of Lytton Plaza is to standardize the traffic pattern, eliminate confusion at the intersection and increase pedestrian safety while crossing.
While the one-way configuration on Bernard is necessary to create more parking, it is also necessary to reduce pedestrian/vehicle conflict at the intersection.
